Today I filled a long held ambition and visited the Millau Viaduct. This “highway in the sky” is 2.5 km long and was designed by Norman Foster. It’s just a bridge you may say but it’s more than that it is a helluva bridge; and it slopes! Loved it. 9 May 2014
Something a little different today. We are at Marvejols in the Lozère department and today the whole of France is shut for a day’s holiday. But we found a nice church to look at and I particularly liked the fact that there is a boot scraper set into the wall by the main entrance. Clean…
Today we’ve driven south via Paris to Moulins in the Allier. This ancient and prosperous town sits on the northern edge of the Auvergne. We’re in France and today has taken us across some of the World War 1battlefields; many names so familiar to anyone who knows a bit of history.
