We’re in France and today has taken us across some of the World War 1battlefields; many names so familiar to anyone who knows a bit of history.

We always try to visit some of the wartime cemeteries as they are now beautiful and peaceful places; immaculately cared for on behalf of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. We stopped at one on the main road that was about halfway between Thiepval and Beaumont Hamel, a poignant place on a rainy day.
