In Bath we are graced by the presence of not just one but two universities, which is nice because it means there are always lots of young people in town.
Currently we are in the middle of the annual round of graduation ceremonies which are held in our beautiful abbey church. I’m sure that such a venue provides a lifelong memory for them and certainly for the proud parents here for the day.
Everyone is out in their glad rags; smart mums and dads and all the graduates in their academic caps and gowns or their doctoral robes. One regular feature of graduations is the group photograph at the end of which their caps (mortar boards) are flung into the air. This group were in Parade Gardens and if you look carefully you will see a flock of caps, like blackbirds, in the air. Good Luck to them all for the future.
