Bishop’s Mitre.

I noticed that on a nearby row of railings the end of each section is decorated with a bishop’s mitre. The railings are outside the St John’s Hospital almshouses on Combe Down in Bath and as this charity was founded in 1174 by Bishop Reginald Fitz Jocelin it may be a nod to his memory; but this is pure speculation on my part.
