Jay.

Sometimes when I’m out for a walk I cut through the grounds of the Royal United Hospital, where I was lucky enough to spot this Jay. Normally a very shy bird this one continued to scratch away in the undergrowth long enough for me to get my camera out and take this picture. For years the only Jays I ever saw were on the gamekeeper’s trophy line but very recently there have been quite a few round here. Last month we actually had three in our garden but, of course, no camera.
