Steps and Blue Door.
This picture was taken at the Bishop’s Palace at Wells in Somerset, England. This is the traditional residence of the Bishop of Bath and Wells; bishops’ palaces have become to be seen as something of an excess in these times of recession, earlier this year when a new bishop took over a smaller local manor house was purchased for him. As the palace is also the administrative headquarters of the diocese it is retained and some feel that the bishop should still live there too. It is a lovely building with a charming little chapel attached, the wells that give their name to the town are within the defensive walls of the palace compound.
