Window Whatnots.

I don’t know what they are called, they’re not balconies and they’re not window boxes. In fact I’m uncertain whether they have any purpose other than to be decorative, but I love them.

You will find them in many shapes and sizes throughout the city of Bath, some well maintained others decrepit, some dutifully painted others all tarnished and faded; whatever their condition I think they add an extra dimension to our city’s architecture.
