We live in an age of people closing things to save money. One popular target for closure around Bath has been our public conveniences. Public convenience is a typically English euphemism for a public lavatory (or bathroom as our American friends would call it).
Last year our local council announced plans to close a number of such facilities as a result of which an excellent elderly lady occupied her local one and it even made the national press. Following this a number have been reprieved including our own in the village.
Others on the other hand celebrate theirs and I give you the excellent and award winning public convenience from Marshfield. Not only clearly identified for all to see but with plaques put up to mark its awards. Hoorah for Marshfield I say.
