Friday is the day when Mrs Sixwheeler allows me the privilege of pushing her shopping trolley round Sainsbury’s while she does our weekly shopping. This is a treat that I look forward to all week.

I have to declare an interest that many moons ago I worked for J Sainsbury which I thoroughly enjoyed and learnt a great deal as well.

But, this morning I saw this,

we all know that Christmas is over but today is only the twenty fourth of January and Good Friday is not until the eighteenth of April. Please may we have at least a short break between commercial promotion of our religious festivals?
